Furious 7 Speeds Toward Another HUGE Weekend At Box Office (UPDATED)
Furious 7 is continuing to run laps around the box office competition. The blockbuster sequel about fast cars doing insane things easily won the Top 10 race again this weekend, this time with a haul of $60.6 million. That put its total after 10 days of release at more than $252 million, making the film the most successful in the franchise’s history. And it hasn’t even been in theaters for two full weeks yet.
In second place was Home, the animated adventure featuring the voices of Rihanna, Jim Parsons and Steve Martin. It earned $19 million in its third week. The Longest Ride, starring Scott Eastwood and Britt Robertson, opened in the #3 spot with $13.5 million.
The Kevin Hart-Will Ferrell comedy Get Hard brought in $8.6 million to rank fourth. Cinderella took fifth with $7.2 million. The young-adult adaptation Insurgent, starring Shailene Woodley, landed in the #6 spot after taking in $6.9 million.
Woman in Gold took hold of seventh place with roughly $5.9 million. The horror film It Follows ($2 million) beat out the Al Pacino movie Danny Collins ($1.6 million) for the #8 spot. Rounding out the Top 10 was the Ben Stiller movie While We’re Young, which, at $1.4 million, just edged out the spy action flick Kingsman: The Secret Service by about $50,000.
