Fox411 exclusively wrong about Robert Pattinson and Saturday Night Live

Fox411 gets a zero for this one.

According to the blog, “Despite his staggering success as the certified break out star of the ‘Twilight’ film franchise, actor Robert Pattinson is still threatened by his co-stars.”

Really?!

The site claims, “sources tell Fox411 exclusively that Pattinson is not a fan of sharing the spotlight and that he even refused to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ along with his ‘New Moon’ costars Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz.”

Either Fox411 made up this info or they have a really bad source, because they have someone say, “Rob is threatened by Kellan and Taylor,” and “When SNL approached him to host he was excited – until he found out he would be hosting with Kellan and Taylor… He doesn’t want to share the stage with them on ‘SNL’ because he doesn’t think they are serious actors like him and doesn’t believe they are on the same level.”

Well, not feeling others are on the same level unfortunately is how we feel right now dealing with this Fox411 item.

But we’ll stoop.

First, this entire story is nonsense. That said, back in September Gossip Cop – who has real sources – found out that Pattinson was offered an SNL hosting gig (by himself), but there were scheduling conflicts.

Today, Gossip Cop spoke to an understandably bewildered rep at SNL, who assured us that the proposed triple booking scenario is absolutely 100 percent “not true.”

I’m beginning to wonder with all this negativity surrounding Rob at the moment, if someone, somewhere has some sort of personal vendetta against Rob…I mean it can’t all be because he’s not dating Kristin can it? Remember back in March/April when all these ‘rumours’ started appearing about him…his hygiene, being gay, giving up acting …all sorts of ridiculous things…and he didn’t bite back and he took it on the chin. Same thing now….right before New Moon is released….very suspicious.

Anyway well done Gssip Cop for refuting this latest pathetic attempt at getting at Rob….Oh and just for the record…there is an interview with Rob and some New York DJ from last year who tells Rob that fans are petitioning for him to host SNL. His reaction ”Jesus Christ’….and a look of absolute horror.

Thanks Gossip Cop for ALWAYS giving us the truth–I’m only sorry that you had to even comment on anything Fox News “reports” and I use that term lightly–as they don’t report they fabricate!!!

It’s an interesting question Lizziebee, but I suspect the answer is more simple than that. The media want to talk about Rob because he sells. And he’s not doing anything they can talk about. So they make stuff up – and negative stories are particularly attention-grabbing, so they go for those.

Saying “Rob Pattinson was overheard by a source saying he couldn’t care less if Taylor got all the attention” will not sell papers. Saying he’s jealous will.

It sucks, but there’s not much anyone can do about it.

  • TKB you are 100% right ! Unfortunatly for Rob, it’s the price they’ll make him pay.
Indeed where is the interest talking about somebody who has never been mean with any of his co-stars, is not known for being jealous of them… He’s just an normal guy, doing his job, in weird circumstances for the moment…

Headlines such as Robert Pattinson is destroyed by is break-up with Kristen Stewart and goes his own way for the New Moon promo leaving the new lovers together. He is drowning his sorrow in alcohol and drugs but will not commit suicide because it’s forbidden by contract, as our sources from Summit inform us ;o) That one’s good, no ?
Why not adding on a little gay crush and you’ve got the lot !!!

Oh, please! This one is utterly ridiculous!!!!! I’m even laughing!… XD…
So Rob thinks of himself as too-much-a-star for co-hosting with Kellan and Taylor?… Yeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh… Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight… that sounds so stupid! this guys always ALWAYS (in video, coming straight out of his mouth) says he doesn’t even understand what all the fuss is about! So, saying he cares about it is totally absurd!

I’m always wondering if Fox News is a comedy channel… face it, it might BE a comedy channel…

And ditto to the making-up-negative-stories-as-they-grab-attention… Robert has said himself that he is “boring”… his words, not mine… I just think he’s normal… or probably I’m boring too, who knows…
So making up things is the way to sell anything… like drop his name anywhere so you can sell anything by just the fact you used his name… that disgusting!… but it happens, that’s one of the down sides of “fame” (whatever that thing means!)…
Everyone seems to want to gain some of his fame, by just mentioning his name and acknowledging the fact that Robert fans will look into anything that has his name on… so… there… disgusting… can’t they make things by themselves, and have to use someone else’s name and/or life? Naïve people!

    Again, my 2 cents…

    Thanks GC… :D *thumbs up*
    xoxo

@Facebook User “will not commit suicide because it’s forbidden by contract, as our sources from Summit inform us”… LOL!!!!! … Ok, give them some time, and sure this one will come up… hahahahhahaha… Forgot to put a baby somewhere… there’s always a baby…
A friend just told me that now there’s a magazine (dunno which one, sorry) that is saying his agent is the reason of the supposedly split from Kristen… XD…
I just really have no idea why they are so creative! or why don’t they use it for other purposes…

  • shellbell says:

lizziebee: I’m with you. There always seems to be some sort of campaign to discredit Rob. He’s at the top of his game I guess, and that makes him a convenient target. No matter to me, I’m a fan. He can act and is certainly a gifted musician. Even more, I like his interview style; he seems a kind-hearted and fun-loving young man. That’s good enough for me.

  • truthinmedia says:

What Fox and these other media outlets better learn QUICK is that, right now, Robert’s fans are HUGE! And they know him. They’ve downloaded every interview, every TV appearance, read every article he’s been in! They probably know Robert better than he does at this point! We know exactly what type of person he is and (unless overnight the fame went blasting to his head and he woke up a completely different person) we can smell the BS when they try to hit us with it! Plus, Rob’s fans will die-hard try to stick up for him on every blogsite out there! Look out Fox411, not to stir the wrath of the legions of RPatz fans!! Otherwise, NONE of your stories will be read with any legitimacy!!

  • Fox News, which Fox411 is a part of, is full of liars. Enough said.

  • Camille Kemp says:

I have a VERY hard time believing that Rob would do SNL. I am sure it was offered and they gave the excuse of “scheduling conflicts.” I really don’t believe that Rob has the self esteem to do something so vulnerable. Especially something live like that. If he did do it, I would imagine he would totally want other cast members there too.
