Floyd Mayweather Sued By Mother Of His Kids For $20 Million For Allegedly Lying About Her And “Drugs”
Floyd Mayweather has just been hit with a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris, stemming from him recently claiming he had to “restrain” her while she was “on drugs” during their 2010 fight, which ultimately landed him behind bars. Harris, the mother of three of Mayweather’s kids, says in court papers that the boxing champ lied about her to shift the focus and people’s perception of him before his match with Manny Pacquiao. Harris says her reputation has now been hurt by Mayweather spinning that she has drug problems, and so she’s seeking $20 million.
In an interview Mayweather did with Katie Couric in April, ahead of his fight with Pacquiao, the boxer claimed he didn’t “stomp” or “beat” Harris, and that all he did was “restrain a woman that was on drugs.” Of course, that’s not what the court felt. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Mayweather, who busted into Harris’ home and attacked her, spent two months in jail and had to complete a yearlong domestic violence program.
According to Harris’ new lawsuit, Mayweather’s remarks to Couric were “fabricated in order to hype Mayweather’s upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children.” Mayweather, who earned $180 million for easily defeating Pacquiao on Saturday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, has not commented on Harris’ $20 million lawsuit. Gossip Cop will continue to update.
