BREAKING!

The death certificate for Brittany Murphy has just been filed.

The document lists manner of death as “pending investigation,” and the immediate cause of death is labeled “deferred.”

Gossip Cop asked why it took more than a week for a death certificate to be filed, and the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office told us the process depends on the mortuary taking action.

The coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology and tissue tests to determine cause of death. TMZ first reported details of the report.
