E L James and Universal Sue Over Fifty Shades of Grey Porn Films, Sex Toys

Porn companies looking to capitalize on the buzz surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey should probably back off their erotic knock-offs.

Universal Studios filed a copyright infringement lawsuit on Tuesday against adult film company Smash Pictures for its hardcore Fifty Shades of Grey: a XXX Adaptation.

The skin flick allegedly lifts “exact dialogue, characters, events, story, and style from the Fifty Shades trilogy.”

“The first XXX adaptation is not a parody, and it does not comment on, criticize, or ridicule the originals. It is a rip-off, plain and simple,” reads the complaint.

Universal also claims Smash has two more related movies in the works, and that a subsidiary is selling a “play kit” of sex toys under the name “Fifty Shades of Pleasure.”

Fifty Shades author E L James, who shares the film rights to her trilogy of novels, is a co-plaintiff in the suit.

The novelist and Universal, which is adapting the first book into a mainstream movie, are seeking profits from the products, monetary damages and an injunction against further Smash sales.

    Read her story when it was on fanfiction.Was one of the many people who supported her in that fandom.I commented on her story many times saying …You should get this published.And maybe movie?….. She did write this for fun in the twilight fanfiction fandom.She made an ALL
    HUMAN story using some of the characters names and some of there professions from the Twilight series.She constantly gave credit to Stephanie Meyers and her original work.Icy would say I’m just having fun with some of her characters.(Manely Bella and Edward).But again the content of Icy’s story on the fanfiction site WAS OF HER OWN IMAGINATION.HER FANS from that site and when she formed her own blog and finished posting her story there,are the one that told her what a great story she had.Her fans knew that if she were to publish her book that some of the names of the characters and their professions in the story would have to be changed.But much of the story did not have to be changed.The content and the idea of the story was hers and always was Icy’s.We her true fans from way back when are happy she has the success she does.We knew what she was writing would be a smash hit for her.STOP all of this crap being said about her.I personally can not wait for the movie to come out.And I, could not be any happier for her.(I just miss her personal responds she would send to you (and very frequently) for leaving a comment for her when she would post the newest chapter she had written.

    That’s what happens when someone and their ripped off idea sky rockets to fame. They forget the little people and are only about the all mighty dollar. Karma is Karma. She ripped of SM’s characters personalities and mannerisms and now wants to sue someone for doing the same. My heart bleeds….

    It’s about time some Karma came her way. Honestly, for a woman who praised Twilight fans in the beginning-while it was still fan fiction, then dumped many aside saying she ‘never truly felt she belonged in the fandom’ and not giving credit where credit was due…to only changing the story 11% fanfic to book.
