NBC announced “The Jay Leno Show” with great fanfare back in 2008, and after fewer than five months on the air, Jay Leno will call it quits tonight.

For the show’s finale, Leno will have Ashton Kutcher promoting “Valentine’s Day,” “Precious” star Gabourey Sidibe, and Bob Costas will do the “10 at 10″ from Vancouver, where he will host the Winter Olympics, beginning Friday on NBC.

While the Olympics are on, Leno’s studio will be completely redone before he (again) hosts “The Tonight Show,” starting March 1.

After cheering on the New Orleans Saints at the Super Bowl in Miami, Angelina Jolie traveled to the Dominican Republic, where she spent time yesterday with hospitalized victims of the Haiti earthquake. 

Later today, Jolie, a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador, will head to Haiti to meet with those who affected by the earthquake.

In addition to her work in the field, Jolie and Brad Pitt have already donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to help with the relief effort in Haiti.

Gossip Cop will update when more details emerge about her charitable work with those on the devastated island nation.

Why do Gossip Cop’s eyes get wide every time MediaTakeOut.com cites an “insider”? Well, the site has given us so many fascinating scoops in the past – that Cassie was pregnant with Diddy’s baby, that Usher was converting to Judaism, etc. – we just know it’s going to be a great exclusive.

Today an “extremely reliable source” tells the site New Orleans Saint Reggie Bush was “visibly upset” with the amount of attention girlfriend Kim Kardashian received after his team won the Super Bowl in Miami last night.

“Everyone wanted to talk to Kim and not to Reggie,” claims the “insider.” “And when they talked to Reggie, they just wanted to talk about Kim.”

Uh huh.

(Would this be a good time to note that MediaTakeOut once touted a “world exclusive” that Kim’s sister Kourtney would be getting married instead of her other sister, Khloe, in a bizarre wedding “switcheroo” conspiracy? You know, one that never actually took place?)

As for this latest rumor, a rep for Kardashian told Gossip Cop it’s “ridiculous.”

You would think the way Perez Hilton has been stealing Gossip Cop exclusives (without linking to us), he would already know the answer to the question he posed, “Orlando And K-Stew?!“

Or maybe he’s simply less interested in fact-checking (and the truth) than he is in sensationalism.

Either way, Perez writes, “Rumors are swirling that Orlando Bloom, who is in a serious relationship with Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr, is cheating with none other than Kristen Stewart!”

Lifting the same inaccurate Star magazine story Gossip Cop busted FIVE DAYS AGO, Perez claims a “source” says while in Sundance, “‘their chemistry was explosive’ and that ‘things got intense’ just before the pair of them left to hook up in Kristen’s rented condo.”

First, the story is WRONG. Bloom and Stewart NEVER hooked up.

Second, Stewart did NOT rent a condo in Sundance.

Third, the story is STILL wrong, the way it was FIVE DAYS AGO when we verified with sources close to the actress.

Dr. Conrad Murray, the late Michael Jackson’s physician, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the pop icon’s death.

He’ll be arraigned at 1:30PM Pacific time.

He’s expected to plead “not guilty.”

A conviction carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

Jackson died of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009, under the controversial Murray’s care.

A just-released copy of the L.A. County Coroner’s report concludes that Propofol killed the entertainer. The “manner of death” is “homicide.”

Sealed until today, the report will be part of Dr. Murray’s prosecution.

UPDATE – 6:00PM –

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s website, Dr. Conrad Murray has been booked (officially), with bail set at $75,000.

Reportedly, a bail bondsman will put up the sum so Murray can be released.

This afternoon he pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter charges.

The medical board has filed a motion to strip Murray of his medical license.

Sitting behind prosecutors in the courtroom were family members including Joe Jackson, Katherine Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jackie Jackson, Jermaine Jackson, LaToya Jackson, and Randy Jackson.

Another day, another major malfunction for HollywoodLife.

“EXCLUSIVE! Audrina Patridge Fell Out Of Her Super Bowl Party Dress — And Told ‘The Hills’ Cameras to Keep Rolling!” bellows the site, hoping exclamation points are a good substitute for facts.

“It may not be on par with Janet Jackson’s legendary nip-slip during the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show,” the post claims, “But Audrina Patridge’s wardrobe malfunction at last night’s Maxim Super Bowl party in Miami was still totally hilarious.”

Do tell!

Patridge’s black mini dress “simply wasn’t able to contain her,” explains HollywoodLife, “and her boobs kept popping out while MTV cameras were rolling!” The site goes on to say the reality TV starlet “loved the attention” and didn’t ask the cameras to cut away.

That does sound funny! Too bad it didn’t happen!

“Audrina did not have a wardrobe malfunction of any kind while in Miami this weekend,” a rep for the Hills star tells Gossip Cop. “This rumor is utter BS.”

Even Patridge herself tweeted, “I did NOT have any sort of a wardrobe malfunction in Miami this weekend. It’s sad that some blogs resort to making things up to get [press.]”

Charlie Sheen was just charged with one count of felony menacing and two misdemeanors; one for assault, the other for criminal mischief.

The judge loosened the restrictions of the protective order, enabling Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller to once again be in contact. 

Sheen, however, is still not allowed to drink alcohol or possess firearms.

The couple is due back in court on March 15.

Sheen’s charges stem from the Christmas Day incident in which he allegedly threatened his wife with a knife, resulting in his arrest.

The plea stems froma domestic violence incident last April in Santaquin, Utah.

While the judge sentenced Coleman to 31 and a half days in jail, the “Diff’rent Strokes” star can avoid time behind bars if he completes a domestic violence course and pays a $595 fine.

Before the hearing began, Coleman said, “I’ve been in better places on my birthday.”

Any comments attributed to Robert Pattinson are going to get huge attention, especially with regards to the highly anticipated Bel Ami he’s making with Uma Thurman, and especially if outlets can throw in the word “sex.”

“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing,” Pattinson is quoted as saying to The Daily Record. The comments were quickly (and not surprisingly) picked up everywhere. “[Thurman's character] kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal,” Pattinson supposedly adds.

Bel Ami is an adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s novel, in which Georges Duroy (Pattinson) is a social climbing journalist and playboy. As Gossip Cop confirmed last month, Christina Ricci has also signed on to the project.

Gossip Cop was told by a source close to Pattinson that the Daily Record interview is a “fabrication.”

The source adds, Pattinson “never spoke to the [Scottish] Daily Record.”

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have initiated legal proceedings against News of the World, which wrongly claimed last month that the couple was set to split.

The paper’s bombshell story on January 24 purported to have details about Pitt and Jolie agreeing to divide their assets and make custody arrangements for the children, setting off an avalanche of new speculation that the high-profile Hollywood relationship was coming to an end. The report went so far as to say Pitt and Jolie had visited with a divorce attorney, had already signed an agreement, and that a breakup was imminent.

As Gossip Cop reported immediately after the News of the World-fueled breakup rumors exploded, sources told us the story was not true.

Today’s news corroborates our reporting.

A lawyer for the couple, Keith Schilling, called the “widely republished” allegations in News of the World “false and intrusive.” Pitt and Jolie have requested a retraction. The attorney’s statement also notes that Sorrell Trope, identified widely as the divorce lawyer advising the couple, has never even met them.

It’s looking more and more like media outlets acted recklessly when reprinting the News of the World’s Brangelina reporting last month. Gossip Cop hopes they’re just as quick to spread a retraction.
