The FBI is investigating the massive leak of celebrity nude photos. In a statement issued on Monday, a spokesperson for the bureau said, “The FBI is aware of the allegations concerning computer intrusions and the unlawful release of material involving high profile individuals, and is addressing the matter.” “Any further comment would be inappropriate at this time,” add the FBI spokesperson.

As Gossip Cop reported, on Sunday a hacker unleashed online dozens and dozens of naked photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kirsten Dunst, Kate Upton, Hope Solo,Krysten Ritter, Teresa Palmer, and — allegedly — Victoria Justice, Ariana Grande, and Yvonne Strahovski, among many others. On the heels of speculation that Apple’s iCloud system had been hacked, Dunst tweeted sarcastically, “Thank you iCloud.”

And after several photos of a totally naked Jennifer Lawrence hit online, the actress’ rep issued a statement that read: “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

Similarly, when nude pics of Kate Upton and her boyfriend Justin Verlander were shared on the Web, the model’s lawyer stated, “This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client Kate Upton’s privacy. We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.” Well, now some of the stars can be assured the FBI is on their case.
