It’s no good for Letterman’s son. I pity Stephanie Birkitt but somehow, she is also responsible for it. She became a temptation for Letterman and this man proven the weakness of the men’s. Well, it’s already there and we don’t control the situations. I just hope that respect for privacy is still there. Halderman will probably need some payday loans for a good lawyer. Stephanie Birkitt is the unwilling center of the David Letterman extortion plot. Stephanie Birkitt is, or was, a long time employee at the Late Show and NBC, and she had a brief affair with Letterman several years ago, which was supposed to have ended before when Letterman's long time girlfriend and now wife, Regina, gave birth to their son. Turns out that Birkitt's roommate, one Robert Halderman, stole her diary, found out what had happened and attempted to extort David Letterman of $2 million, or he would reveal the affair. Letterman fessed up anyway, and the matter is now in the hands of the New York Police Department, who will probably shoot an unarmed person, not Halderman, in response.

This encounter occurred after Letterman’s son was born, but before he married the child’s mother. No, he wasn’t married, but he was still cheating on Regina Lasko. He had a long term relationship with her, dating back to 1988. And this Birkitt woman wasn’t the only co-worker he, ummmm, “dated”. This kind of thing makes for a wonderful work environment. Even if the relationship was consensual, other co-workers end up resenting the fact that the piece the boss is banging on the side seems to be getting a disproportionate amount of attention and good assignments.

Letterman is a serial cheater. I expect we’ll find out more disturbing things about Letterman’s life at the “office” in the future.

And he had the nerve to make jokes about Mark Sanford…..

So… let me get this straight. Your “scoop” is that four years ago you interacted with Letterman at a bus stop and this woman cut him off while speaking. And this means what exactly….?

I thought this site was all about not jumping to conclusions about people based on scanty evidence!

I usually enjoy your posts, but you lost me on this one.
