Ewan McGregor Talks “Beauty and the Beast” On “GMA” – WATCH
Ewan McGregor appeared on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America” to talk about the live action remake of Beauty and the Beast. Check out the full interview below!
The actor spoke to the “GMA” panel in a live segment on the morning show about his new movie and discussed how he perfected the French accent for his character, Lumiere. “I thought I was a little lazy about it because I’ve lived with my wife for all these years,” McGregor said. “I went in to record mine, but my French accent wasn’t very good at all. I came back here to New York and I got to re-record all my dialogue again, so it’s slightly more French now.”
McGregor went on to talk about how he adapted the original Lumiere for the new live action remake. “I don’t really know the original one. I wasn’t familiar with it,” he said. “I think the writing was very good, and Bill Condon’s wonderful direction was very good, so I let them lead me and tried to make him my Lumiere.”
The actor then opened up about how it felt to sing in a movie for the first time since Moulin Rouge. “Wonderful, I loved it. It’s a very special thing to make music,” McGregor noted. “If I hadn’t been an actor, I think maybe that’s what I would have liked to have done. It’s such a pleasure to make music. When you’re recording a big number, it’s very exciting.” Watch the full “GMA” interview below!
