Everyone wrong about Nicole Kidman and Robert Pattinson pairing up

ScreenDaily.com announces in a headline today, “Pattinson, Kidman board Bel Ami for Protagonist,” and goes on to report, “In an intriguing star pairing, Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson is teaming with Nicole Kidman to star in Bel Ami, the film of Guy De Maupassant’s erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction.”

The story was picked up EVERYWHERE, and reported as fact by numerous websites, including Perez Hilton.

So is it true?

Well, yes, it is based on a novel by Guy de Maupassant, and yes, Pattinson will play a cad.

What’s NOT true is that Kidman will star opposite Pattinson. While she did consider the project, the film’s timing didn’t work out. Kidman’s rep told Gossip Cop that “Bel Ami” is “categorically not happening for her.”

    In the same articles, it has been said that the shooting would take place in London and Budapest in February.
    Until today, everybody knew that te shooting will be done in Paris, from January to March.

    Do you know something about when exactely the actual shooting will take place and where?

    That’s great. Rob gets to be home, will love seeing him showing Kristen around London, them hanging with his mates. By the way Gossipcop, if you do know locales and shooting dates – please keep it to yourself. They have enough papz, stalkers and tweeters tailing them everywhere.

    @Cleo I’m a little confused as to why you assume Kristen will be with him in London? They are not together you know?

    Cleo -the information I was asking for is not what you can call confidential. It was the shooting period and the city as opposed to what you mentioned “shooing day and location”, so I hope you weren’t speaking about that.

    I think everybody wants to know when they’ll be shooting and in which city.

    Personally I think it would be wierd not to shoot it in Paris because the book has this very parisian ambiance and it would be difficult to capture it somewhere else.

    TKB, hopefully it was a false alarm and the Paris location is still on. I suppose you’re also living here?

    Cleo, I totally agree with your post. It would be great to see them around his home town. I also beleive it is too late to tell the paps to not be in their faces in London, too. The paps are everywhere Rob is, now, but hopefully the New Moon movie hype will be over enough that Rob and Kristen get some rest of the paps flash bulbs.

    minuit passe, I don’t know where your are getting your source stories, but if your follow GC then you will get your true facts.

    GC, hope your hands don’t get too tired of the typing that you will be doing on the Robsten, and New Moon Twilight stories…cause I can’t start my mornings without GC first thing :)

    minuit passé – yep, Parisienne as can be!

    sadly the new location makes sense, because Budapest is often used as a cheaper substitute for Paris in movies. But, surely they’ll have to shoot some of the scenes in Paris itself – the final scene takes place in La Madeleine, you can’t substitute that! So, fingers crossed :-)

    @TKB – You’re right, it makes sense. But I thought Bucarest was usually thee shooting location especially for Paris scenes. I could suscribe imdb just to find out more.

    @dmsm24- “no cat fights” :))) Don’t worry, I don’t give a sh*** about some little girl’s misunderstanding (usually people can make a difference between official information and confidential details, right?) or Robsten fantasies.
    I am actually waiting for GC’s info concerning shooting date and location (city). But for a long while everybody in press was talking about Paris.

    oh non, moi aussi j’ai passé l’âge…s’il vient tourner Bel Ami à Paris, peut-être que j’essaierai, Maupassant c’est déjà plus respectable ;-)

    I’m not sure Gossic Cop is the place to get the time/locations though. What they usually do is contact reps, who wouldn’t really have anything to do with that. Plus Bel Ami is a European production, and I’m just not sure Gossip Cop have the right contacts for that. Maybe Rob will say something about it during the NM promo tour…

    @TKB ou alors le croiser comme par hasard dans un resto parisien connu comme étant le rendez-vous du 7ème art ou ailleurs. Je sais, c’est un peu la honte, mais j’assume. Surtout si c’est la seule chance de le voir.
