Eva Longoria Lashes Out at Newspaper for Wrongly Linking Her to Basketball Player

“Eva Longoria may have her eye on a new baller,” begins a piece in the New York Post, which tries to link the “Desperate Housewives” star to Matt Barnes of the L.A. Lakers.

The tab reports that Longoria, who divorced San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker, was “very flirty” with Barnes on Thursday when they had dinner together at New York’s Il Mulino.

And while the paper acknowledges they were eating with two others, the Post goes out of its way to say Longoria “seemed very focused on Barnes,” who recently split with his fiancee, “basketball Wives” star Gloria Govan.

Then the paper quotes a “spy” at the restaurant, who seemingly knows what’s going through their minds: “There was definitely a spark between Eva and Matt. They weren’t seated next to each other, but you could tell there was something between them.”

Seriously?!

“They weren’t seated next to each other,” but “there was definitely a spark between Eva and Matt”?

That was enough for the Post to go on?

Longoria is still dating Eduardo Cruz, and her involvement — besides just being friends — with Barnes is that they work together on the actress’ “Padres Contra El Cáncer” charity.

Longoria took to her WhoSay page to blast the paper: “Once again, press gets it wrong, matt barnes and I are not dating! We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs Cancer. Why is the truth never the headline?”

    I would have never known about this story unless she mentioned it. She’s c-list at best. No one cares about her or the rumors surrounding her. All she ever does is gripe about her celebrity and the tabloids, while she is busy using them and giving interviews to them to further her career. I’ll never forget how she ran around L.A. with an “I’ll have your baby Brad” t-shirt less than a week after Brad and Jen split. Or how she got pulled over by a Hispanic cop and was caught making racially charged comments about him. She’s a low class nobody who better hang on to her money. Once Desperate Housewives ends this woman will have no choice but to crawl back under the rock from which she came.

    I have been seeing things on her twitter account, whereas, I thought that she was a better person than that. I use to think that she was real nice, but she seems to be throwing all kinds of hints at certain people for attention. I have no idea what these people have ever done to her.

    Why such an Eva hater? Because of all the things I mentioned. I feel completely comfortable not liking someone for making racists comments about a person of color and wearing that infamous t-shirt. That was followed by years of her using the press while complaining about the press. I think you might want to look up the word judgmental. Judgmental would be me dissing her for her hair or her acting skills or something. There’s nothing wrong with me pointing out that she’s a jerk.
