Eva Longoria has debunked a rumor that she has signed a contract with Televisa to join “Cuna de Lobos” and other telenovelas.

According to a hoax Latin Times report that was widely circulated as though it were real, the actress supposedly appeared at a press conference announcing a new production of “Cuna de Lobos” and her alleged plans to play Catalina Creel, the mother of a character portrayed by William Levy.

Outlets failed to pay attention to the fact that the original story was designed as a joke.

On Tuesday, Longoria responded to the rumor.

She tweeted, “How can people make stuff up and print it? Not one word of this is true! Even has fake quotes from me!”

It’s not the first time Longoria has directly refuted a false story.

Hopefully, journalists start being a little more careful in the new year.
