Eric Stonestreet SLAMS Gene Simmons: You Were “D*ck” To My Mom On Plane!
Eric Stonestreet claims Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley were rude to his mother on a flight, but the KISS rockers say he’s got it wrong, and it seems as though everyone has now (kind of) made peace. On Thursday, the “Modern Family” star shared some texts from his mom in which she told him that Simmons and Stanley were on her plane. Things then allegedly took an ugly turn.
“Turns out both Gene Simmons AND Paul Stanley were on my mom’s flight to Kansas City. Gene tried to bully my mom out of her seat and when she said no, he said, it’s ok, I just bought the plane and then asked her for HER autograph. – dick move. Then Paul called her ‘Aunt Bee.’ – dick move. I can’t wait to run into you two old ass makeup wearing f*cks and tell you in person; you should have been nicer to my mom.”
Wow. Except Simmons says it never happened. “Someone posted a story which is blatantly untrue. The essence of it was that we were mean to somebody’s mother. It’s simply untrue,” he tweeted. Stonestreet responded, “It was me and it was my mom. Just say sorry for the confusion Jamey Stonestreet and we’re good.”
“I STAND BY MY WORDS — IT’S FICTION,” replied Simmons. “LOOK, I HAVE A MOTHER, TOO. I would never be mean, especially to mothers. You know that.” Stonestreet shot back, “Im gonna go ahead & believe my 70yr old mom on this one. u should continue to make HER the aggressor tho. Its a good color on u.”
In the midst of the Stonestreet-Simmons exchange, Stanley chimed in, writing, “@EricStonestreet I actually waited so your mom could get off first. The rest-A misunderstanding of joking. I apologize anyway. Good son.” Stonestreet told Stanley, “Thank u for that. She did tell me you let her go first. I will tape my glow in the dark KISS posters back together now.”
Simmons was not done defending himself. “YOU LOVE YOUR MOM. I LOVE MY MOM. WE ALL LOVE MOMS—. I STAND BY MY WORDS,” he told Stonestreet, later telling a follower, “THE GODS HONEST TRUTH IS, I WAS FAST ASLEEP FOR THE ENTIRE FLIGHT, AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANYONE IS TALKING ABOUT.”
In the end, Stonestreet seems to have ended the Twitter feud with a somewhat sarcastic apology, writing, “Ok @genesimmons. Take care. I assure u, I will have a stern talk with my mom about making up stories. Old people, ya know? OUR apologies:).” If the “Modern Family”-KISS war resumes, Gossip Cop will have updates.
