‘Equals’ New Trailer: Kristen Stewart And Nicholas Hoult Are Forbidden Lovers
Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult play forbidden lovers in the upcoming sci-fi drama, Equals, which takes place in a future dystopian society where falling in love is a crime. The second trailer for the movie was just released online on Monday. Watch below!
All human emotions have been eradicated in the future world in which the film is set, resulting in a society without violence. As the trailer indicates, “Physical contact or displays of feeling are a danger.” But with the removal of negative emotion also comes the elimination of positive feelings, including love. Silas (Hoult) and Nia (Stewart), however, somehow grow an attraction to each other in spite of this.
On the heels of the new trailer, the movie will be making its U.S. premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Monday night. As Gossip Cop reported, Equals had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last September, and was later screened at the Toronto International Film Festival. During a recent interview about the film, Stewart revealed that playing her character was “painful,” yet “cathartic,” and making the movie has turned into a “completely different” person.
Equals will be available to rent exclusively on DirecTV on May 26, before it hits theaters on July 15. Watch the new trailer below!
