Taraji P. Henson And ‘Empire’ Cast To Visit Military Bases For USO Tour
Taraji P. Henson and other cast members of the hit show “Empire” will be visiting military bases in Japan from December 13-17 as part of a USO tour, it was announced on Friday.
Joining Henson are co-stars Jussie Smollett and Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, who play two of the actress’s sons on the FOX series, a musical drama which centers around a family in the music business. The cast will travel to three bases during their USO tour: Naval Air Facility Atsugi, Yokota Air Base and Misawa Air Base.
During their trip, the “Empire” stars will spend time with various soldiers, dining alongside them as well as hosting two holiday-themed “White Parties,” events in which the military units will wear all white-colored clothing.
This past summer, as Gossip Cop reported, the “Next Empire Artist” bus tour traveled around the country. The traveling competition featured a bus decked out with a recording studio where fans could record their own versions of “Empire” songs for a chance to win a walk-on role on the show.
As Gossip Cop also noted, the cast of “Empire” hosted an hour-long music and variety special this week. The broadcast, titled “Taraji And Terrence’s White Hot Holidays,” featured the actors performing various holiday classics.
