Emmys Snubs 2015: Who Got ROBBED Of Emmy Awards Nominations?
The 2015 Emmy Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, and while many deserving stars and shows got nominated, there were also plenty of snubs. Gossip Cop has compiled a list of the biggest upsets below.
Social media is abuzz with fans discussing what and who got robbed of consideration for this year’s lineup of nominees. “The Last Man on Earth” didn’t nab a nomination for “Outstanding Comedy Series,” despite being one of the best reviewed new comedies of the year. However, the show’s star Will Forte was recognized as a nominee for “Lead Actor in a Comedy.”
“The Good Wife” and its star Julianna Margulies were left out of both drama series and lead actress nominations, respectively. Meanwhile, dramas including “Empire,” “Justified,” “Masters Of Sex,” “The Affair” and “The Americans” were denied nods in the “Outstanding Drama Series” category. Notably snubbed for “Outstanding Comedy Series” were “The Big Bang Theory,” “Jane The Virgin, “The Comeback,” “Nurse Jackie” and “Shameless.”
Interestingly, Jim Parson, who won Emmys in four of the last five years for “Lead Actor in a Comedy” was not nominated this year. Social media is also in an uproar that Terrence Howard was snubbed for “Lead Actor in a Drama.”
In the “Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series” category, Bill Maher’s “Real Time” was snubbed in favor of other political-themed talk shows like “The Colbert Report,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.”
