Emmy Rossum Home Burglarized, $150,000 In Jewelry Stolen
Emmy Rossum was the victim of an apparently burglary last week. About $150,000 in jewelry was stolen from two safes in her Los Angeles home.
Rossum was in New York when the theft occurred sometime between Wednesday and Friday. When the actress’ housekeeper arrived at the end of the week, she discovered the glass back door was broken and the residence’s power was off. It’s believe the perpetrator or perpetrators cut the electricity to avoid trigging a security alarm.
Once inside, the culprits easily gained access to Rossum’s safes because the combination codes were readily available. The housekeeper found both safes open and empty, with Rossum’s valuable antique jewelry missing. Nothing else from the property was taken but the prized baubles.
It’s unclear if Rossum was specifically targeted, or if the burglary was a random attack. As Gossip Cop has reported, a number of other celebrities have found themselves dealing with similar crimes in recent months, but authorities have not linked any of the incidents. Rather, it’s been suggested the burglaries are part of a city-wide crime spree, and not one specifically focused on famous stars.
Other victims include Kendall Jenner, Alanis Morissette, Cesar Milan, and Nicki Minaj. Most recently, Jaime Pressly’s home was burglarized earlier this month. Rossum, unfortunately, now joins the list. She tweeted after the news broke, “Thank you to the LAPD. I fully support the police efforts and dedication.”
