Emma Watson Reportedly in Talks to Star in New Cinderella Movie

Emma Watson may be trading in her wand for a glass slipper.

The Harry Potter star is reportedly in “very early talks” to star in a new live-action film adaptation of Cinderella.

If cast, Watson would join Cate Blanchett, who is set to play the Evil Stepmother.

The Disney movie is expected to hit theaters in 2014, according to Variety.

Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for Watson to confirm the possible role.

Oh this would be amazing! But what happened to the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ film she was supposed to be in??

That was a made for TV version. There are tons of Cinderella live action derivations out there. The story is classic and can’t be hurt by multiple versions.

That wasn’t actually a Cinderella adaption though. There have been two similar movies since then.

I hope being produced by Disney doesn’t mean that it’ll be the sweet fairy tale. I’d love to see a darker version like the earlier versions of the story.

So the big things now are turning YA books into movies, fairy tales to movies, fantasy (vampires, witches, wolves,etc) to movies ..
The book Cinder by Marissa Meyer is in the talks to turn into a movie as well :) I hope it will be good.
