Emma Watson Beatboxes While Lin-Manuel Miranda Raps About Gender Equality (VIDEO)
Emma Watson shows off her beatboxing skills while Lin-Manuel Miranda raps about gender equality in a new video to promote HeForShe, the UN’s campaign dedicated to women’s rights. Watch below!
In the footage, which was filmed earlier this month around International Women’s Day, the star and creator of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton encourages Watson to beatbox for him. “You’re an amazing beatboxer,” Miranda says, to which the actress tells the camera, “He’s lying.” Referring to the Harry Potter series, Miranda notes, “I’m sure they were beatboxing on set during those movies.” But the actress jokingly replies, “Oh yeah, English school kids, that’s what we do all the time. We just beatbox.”
Ultimately, Watson agreed to show off her musical skills, and assured Miranda she would cover her mouth during the process, noting, “So I don’t spit at you.” The actress added, “This is gonna be bad,” before suggesting her collaborator freestyle about “gender equality” and “feminism.”
Following their impromptu performance, Watson admitted, “I’m so embarrassed now, I’m literally the color of a tomato. I’m so red.” She humorously begged, “No one ever ask me to do that again. These are the lengths I will go to for gender equality.” Watch Watson and Miranda beatbox and rap below!
