WATCH: Emily West Gives “Million Dollar” Final Performance on America’s Got Talent
Emily West left the judges in awe on part one of the “America’s Got Talent” season 9 finale on Tuesday, getting arguably some of the best praise of the night.
The season-long frontrunner first reprised her “mind-blowing” rendition of “Chandelier,” and then amazed to an even higher degree when she closed the episode with “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack.
Referencing some of West’s personal and professional struggles, Heidi Klum told her afterward, “I’m so happy that America finally got to hear your voice.”
Mel B then yelled with enthusiasm, “That was off the chainnnnnnn! Come on!”
“If that can’t win you a million bucks, I don’t know what can,” she went on. “That was killer. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.”
Howie Mandel agreed, telling West, “I think that song is going to pay off the most… It is a million dollar song right there.”
With three other singing acts also among the six finalists, Howard Stern pointed out why he believes West stands out the most.
“She has charisma and original style and she can sing her butt off,” he said. “This is a spectacular artist that we have on our stage.”
Stern added, “You finished the night with a spectacular bang. You are the greatest.”
Like West, fellow singer Quintavious Johnson also received two standing ovations, as did some of the other acts.
They’re competing against acrobats AcroArmy, singer Miguel Dakota, magician Mat Franco and band Sons of Serendip for the grand prize.
