Emily Maynard is New Bachelorette

Emily Maynard will reportedly be the next star of “The Bachelorette.”

The single mom, who split from “The Bachelor” Brad Womack after a seven-month engagement, is slated to be 2012′s leading lady on the hit ABC series, according to multiple reports.

Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for the show to confirm.

Us Weekly and Life & Style are reporting that a Maynard-centered season would take place in her home base of Charlotte, North Carolina, rather than Los Angeles.

Local sources say shooting is expected to begin in Charlotte in March.

    Why the recycle? There must be dozens of new faces they could hire for this role. I dont watch this show, but I just dont understand the logic of bringing someone back who already has a failed hook-up under her belt.
