Elton John will NOT replace Simon Cowell on “Idol”

There has been much speculation over who will replace Simon Cowell. Earlier today the usually reliable TMZ reported that it had “floated Elton John as the guy who should take Simon’s seat. After all, he knows music, he’s certainly got the bitchy attitude, and he’s British.” 

The site then claimed that after its test balloon, “Now an ‘American Idol’ spy tells us the talk on the set is … Elton John!”

The story has since been picked up by everyone.

And while it is true the singing superstar was a judge on Season Three, Sir Elton will NOT make it permanent.

A rep for Elton John tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “He is not going to be a judge.”
