Elton John: Bruce Jenner’s Transition Is “Incredibly Brave”
Elton John is applauding Bruce Jenner, saying he’s fully backing the former Olympian’s decision to transition. “It’s an incredibly brave thing to do, especially when you’re older,” says John in an interview with “Access Hollywood.” He added, “I admire him for doing it and, I support him 100 percent.” The singer’s husband, David Funish, also said he was proud of Jenner. “People should support him,” noted Funish.
Jenner has been receiving a ton of celebrity support, especially since photos leaked showing him wearing a dress. As Gossip Cop reported, long-lensed images were published of Jenner smoking a cigarette outside his Malibu home wearing a black and white maxi dress. “I’ve said long and loud it’s never too late to make a life change, and I’m personally cheering him on,” said Dr. Phil to People. And Lena Dunham took her support to Twitter, writing, “Dear Stranger: If you’re making unkind Bruce Jenner jokes you have me to answer to. I seriously feel protected this week.”
British TV presenter Rylan Ross Clark, also tweeted his thoughts on Jenner’s transition, writing, “Genuine good luck to Bruce Jenner… I hope she will be happy, looking good in a maxi as well!! #GoBruce.” Jenner is expected to discuss his transition Friday night with Diane Sawyer during an interview on ABC.
