Ellen DeGeneres Unfriendly During ‘Finding Dory’ Press Event?
Ellen DeGeneres was NOT unfriendly or aloof during a recent press event for her new animated movie, Finding Dory, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
A so-called “source” tells OK! that journalists at a press junket were expecting the talk show host to be her usual “bubbly” self, but she supposedly “looked completely bored and kept checking the time.” The magazine’s dubious insider adds, “She wasn’t being asked about her personal life, only questions about the movie, but she still just gave one-word answers.”
The outlet’s seemingly phony source further claims, “You’d think since she was promoting a kids’ movie, she’d plaster on a smile even if she was having a bad day, but no. People were glad when she left.”However, one would be hard-pressed to uncover any interviews in which a “bored” DeGeneres gives “one-word” answers, because that never happened. The tabloid either fabricated the story or has relied on an ill-informed source.
Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to DeGeneres, who exclusively assures us the magazine’s claim is flat-out “false.” On the contrary, DeGeneres is very excited about her animated sequel, and has happily gone out of her way to promote Finding Dory. This is simply a non-story.
Unfortunately, Gossip Cop has often had to call out OK! for making up bogus claims about DeGeneres. We previously busted the magazine for wrongly alleging she was engaging in “dangerous drinking.” Shortly before that fabrication, Gossip Cop corrected the outlet’s inaccurate story that alleged she was moving to Australia once her talk show contract ended. Clearly, the tabloid has either unreliable DeGeneres sources or is manufacturing falsehoods. Either way, its track record when it comes to accurately reporting about the talk show host is not good.
