Ellen DeGeneres Starting Own Magazine?
“Ellen DeGeneres has not only replaced Oprah Winfrey as the queen of daytime TV, but now she’s keen on taking over the newsstands too!” declares Star. According to a source for the magazine, DeGeneres “wants to compete with Oprah’s magazine, and she thinks her fan base will definitely buy it.”
The Star insider claims a “big publishing company in NYC has approached her with the idea and the talk show host is all for creating her own monthly.” Portia de Rossi will be appointed editorial director, says the Star source.
The outlet’s insider explain that DeGeneres and de Rossi “are passionate about all sorts of issues — animal and gay rights are high on their list — and of course they would also be able to promote their vegan lifestyle.” Sounds fun.
If only Star had better DeGeneres sources — then this story might actually be true. But this is the same publication that said DeGeneres and de Rossi were “on the brink of divorce” a couple of months ago. And this magazine rumor is just as wrong. There are no talks about DeGeneres starting a magazine, a source tells Gossip Cop.
