Ellen DeGeneres Prince Tribute Video
Ellen DeGeneres paid tribute to Prince on Tuesday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Watch below.
As Gossip Cop has reported, Prince was found dead in his home last Thursday at age 57. While his cause of death remains unknown, his legacy has been living on through non-stop tributes. DeGeneres was one of many celebrities who tweeted in memoriam a few days ago, writing, “Prince was brilliant and larger than life. What a sad day.” Now the host is remembering the special time they shared together on her talk show.
“He was an artist. He was an icon, a genius. And he was kind enough to appear on my show in the very first season, in 2003,” DeGeneres said. “You have to understand — it’s a big deal, because most stars wait to see if a talk show’s going to be successful. They wait to see if it’s a cool thing to do before they say yes. He did it in the first season, and it meant the world to me that he did that.”
The TV personality then showcased clips of that interview, as well as Prince’s performance of “Kiss.” Naturally, DeGeneres and Prince danced together, and the superstar received so many cheers, he stood up after taking his seat to blow thankful kisses to the audience. Check out the full video below.
