Ellen DeGeneres, Portia De Rossi NOT In “Last-Ditch Attempt” To Save Marriage, Despite Report
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are not going on “date nights” in a “least-ditch attempt to save their marriage,” despite a new tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told, “It’s just so untrue.”
According to Life & Style, “After eight years of marriage, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are dating again.” The tabloid alleges the two are “going on the therapist-recommended date nights as part of a last-ditch effort to save their troubled union.” A so-called “source” tells the magazine, “Part of their therapy is to go on more date nights. That’s why they’ve been seen out and about more together lately.” After noting how the couple was recently spotted at a pre-Oscar party as well as shopping, the supposed “source” adds, “It’s all about spending quality time together, but still giving each other space during the workday.”
The often disproven publication further claims that prior to these “date nights,” DeGeneres and de Rossi’s relationship was “hanging on by a thread.” Its alleged insider is quoted as saying, “Ellen and Portia had been fighting more than ever… Portia was frustrated because she was spending a lot of time on Ellen’s talk show set or sitting at home, waiting for Ellen to spend time with her.” The misguided magazine contends DeGeneres and de Rossi’s fighting “on set got so heated, Ellen’s staff couldn’t help but overhear the duo’s dirt.” That’s when the talk show host purportedly decided to go to couples therapy, and now she and de Rossi are “in a much better place now.”
But DeGeneres and de Rossi’s marriage has been entirely for years, a source close to the talk show host assures Gossip Cop. Our impeccable insider says the tabloid’s latest claim is “just so untrue.” “These stories are all false,” adds our spot-on source.
What’s happening is Life & Style previously published a slew of falsely stories asserting the couple was on the verge of divorce, and now is seemingly looking to cover up its mess. In 2015, for example, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid when it wrongly reported DeGeneres and de Rossi were fighting over having a baby. As we correctly noted at the time, the two have always been on the same page about not having kids. And a little more than six months ago, Gossip Cop debunked an article from the same magazine that inaccurately alleged DeGeneres and de Rossi were having marriage problems. Those claims weren’t true then, and the tales about them now going on “date nights” in a “last-ditch” effort to repair their marriage are also untrue.
