Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi “Divorce” Drama Made Up By Magazine
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are NOT “leading separate lives” or “headed for an explosive $220 million divorce battle,” despite a new National Enquirer story that sounds an awful lot like old National Enquirer stories. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the report.
According to the outlet’s supposed insider, “Things have definitely been difficult for Ellen and Portia recently, so it’s no surprise to hear they’re spending time apart… It’s clear something’s not right, because Ellen and Portia have gone from being totally inseparable to barely doing anything together.”
“Ellen and Portia are very concerned with their public image, but there’s a growing sense they’re faking their happiness for the cameras,” explains one Enquirer source. “There’s been a huge amount of tension behind the scenes for months, and although they deny it, it’s well-known within their inner circle that they’ve been through an extremely rocky patch that very nearly wound up in the divorce courts.”
And now, according to the Enquirer, things seem to be worse than ever. Except… this is nothing new for the magazine. Last year, the outlet claimed DeGeneres and de Rossi were in “counseling” and close to a split. In 2013, the same publication said the stars were “on the rocks.” Oh, and the Enquirer said that in 2012, too. In fact, the tabloid has pretty much been predicting the couple’s demise since their relationship started.
This latest report is just more of the same empty speculation. A DeGeneres insider tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “It’s ridiculous. The two of them are so happy. Like ridiculously happy.”
