Ellen DeGeneres “Dumped” By Portia de Rossi “For A Man” Claim Is FALSE
Ellen DeGeneres was NOT “dumped” by Portia de Rossi “for a man,” despite a new tabloid cover story wrongly alleging they are getting a “$330 million divorce.” Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story.
According to Wednesday’s new issue of Star, de Rossi is “fed up with her wife’s controlling ways and humiliated by her endless flirting.” Now she’s “ready to call it quits” with DeGeneres. A so-called “source” is quoted as saying, “While they act like they are crazy in love in public, Ellen and Portia have always had a contentious relationship behind the scenes.”
“Portia told Ellen she wants a divorce,” says the supposed snitch, with the magazine further noting, “Even more shocking, friends say Portia may have left Ellen for a man!” The alleged tipster explains, “There have been lots of whispers about it. But she was married to a man before, so it wouldn’t be totally out of the blue. Of course everything with them is always hush-hush.”
Of course, if things are “hush-hush,” how would this “source” know about the couple’s supposed divorce plans? And who is the “man” for whom de Rossi is leaving DeGeneres? Tellingly, the magazine never says. Instead, the article is filled with alleged details about fights over career and family, “damage control,” and even de Rossi’s “jealousy” over DeGeneres’ friendship with Kate McKinnon.
Most disgustingly, Star speculates that the “marital woes may have already trigged a relapse” for de Rossi, who has been open about her past struggles with anorexia. And the tabloid even gives itself a cover at the end, quoting its “source” as saying, “People in their close circle think Portia is just bluffing, and even if she isn’t, they think she will end up recommitting to Ellen.”
That’s a convenient excuse for when de Rossi and DeGeneres don’t actually start divorce proceedings. It’s also worth noting that sister publication the National Enquirer ran a similarly false “Portia Leaves Ellen… For A Man” cover story back in March. But it’s no more true now than it was then.
An impeccable insider close to the couple exclusively tells Gossip Cop the allegations are “all nonsense.” And, by the way, Star has a long history of running untrue divorce covers about top celebrities. Just check out the gallery below.
