Ellen DeGeneres Drinking Becoming “Dangerous”?
Ellen DeGeneres does not engage in “dangerous drinking” causing her friends to be concerned, despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told by a DeGeneres insider that it’s untrue.
According to a so-called “source” for OK!, even though DeGeneres suffered chest pains in 2011, “She drinks more than she should.” The tabloid points to the talk show host being photographed drinking several “glasses of wine on a yacht is St. Barts,” while she was on vacation, and allegedly having margaritas at the Golden Globes, which is Hollywood’s biggest party awards show.
The magazine quotes its supposed source saying, “Her friends have raised their concerns, but Ellen considers herself just a social drinker and insists she’s fine.” “If she continues on this path, though, she could have a heart attack,” adds the alleged source, with no medical basis to back up the claim.
Before Gossip Cop blasts this latest piece of fiction, let’s examine the tabloid’s track record. In May 2014, the outlet published a story that alleged DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were “going to renew their marriage vows, and are even talking about adopting a baby.” We, of course, exclusively corrected that nonsense with our impeccable insiders, and naturally neither claim was true. Curiously, the following month, OK! then said there was “friction” in the marriage because Sofia Vergara had come between the two women. And after that, the magazine claimed de Rossi and DeGeneres were “living apart.”
Clearly, the tabloid’s sources are not great. And yet, the outlet relied upon yet another untrustworthy soul for its latest claim about DeGeneres’s “dangerous drinking.” Gossip Cop, however, went back to a reliable insider, who exclusively assured us the magazine’s tale is untrue.
