Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi NOT Starting Family, Despite Report
According to In Touch, “After years of saying no to motherhood, Ellen is starting a family with the woman she loves.” A so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, “Having a child has always been a dream of Portia’s, but Ellen has always gotten cold feet.” Now, the magazine alleges, the talk show host has had a “change of heart.” The publication’s supposed source is quoted as saying, “Though they’ve been down this family-talk road many times, it really looks like they’re finally serious about having a baby.”
The outlet even drags DeGeneres’s pal Justin Timberlake into its false narrative. The publication’s seemingly ill-informed or made-up source is quoted as saying, “Seeing how Justin and Jessica [Biel]’s adorable 21-month-old son, Silas, has enhanced his parents’ lives has brought Ellen to tears.” The magazine’s “insider”continues, “She realized she was being selfish by telling Portia ‘no’ to a baby.” The comedienne has even joked, claims the tabloid, “that if they have a boy, they’ll name him Justin.”
Next, the magazine discusses how DeGeneres and de Rossi plan to “bring a baby into their lives.” Its misguided “insider” claims, “They’ve been discussing Portia’s carrying the child, which is possible since she’s healthy and only 43, but Ellen would rather a surrogate since she feels it’s safer.” Another option, contends the publication, is getting a surrogate. “They’re getting good advice on the matter since they have plenty of friends, like Neil Patrick Harris and Elton John, who’ve used amazing surrogacy agencies,” adds the purported source. The outlet also says they may adopt. “Ellen would love to adopt a child from her hometown of New Orleans,” says the questionable source, who goes on to state, “It’s a win-win situation for everyone, and Portia couldn’t be happier.”
There is, however, one problem with the In Touch story. DeGeneres and de Rossi are not “starting a family.” All the talk about DeGeneres having a “change of heart” and finally being “serious about having a baby” is nonsense. Equally absurd are the claims about Justin Timberlake inspiring DeGeneres to become a mom. And finally, the quotes about the talk show host and de Rossi planning to “bring a baby into their lives” also appear to be fabricated.
Gossip Cop checked in with an impeccable and reliable DeGeneres source, who assures us none of the story is true. Neither the comedienne nor de Rossi is interested in “starting a family.” Sadly, we are not surprised by the falsity of the report. Gossip Cop has corrected the tabloid a staggering number of times for its inaccurate claims about the talk show host.
In 2014, for example, we busted magazine for wrongly reporting DeGeneres and Rossi we’re having a baby. And just two months ago, Gossip Cop shot down a cover story by the tabloid that falsely alleged DeGeneres and Rossi were in the midst of a divorce. Much like those inaccurate articles, the latest about the couple wanting to start a family is also untrue.
