Elizabeth Banks Disses Tara Reid Acting Career: “We All Didn’t Make It”
Elizabeth Banks threw some shade at Tara Reid during an interview in which she talked about her peers in Hollywood, and how she and others became successful, while some “didn’t make it at all.” Banks, who was promoting her new film Pitch Perfect 2, said, “There was a group of us girls coming up,” adding, “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.” Bank then quickly added to THR: “I do love Sharknado.”
For her part, Reid has no problem with Banks. She told TMZ, “I’ve always been a fan of her work and that’s sad to hear she said those things about me.” While Reid has carved out work in the Sharknado films, Banks, of course, has been in a string of blockbusters hits, including The Hunger Games and The Lego Movie.
Banks also talked about how she landed her full-length directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2. “I went through no hoops for this particular job,” the actress explained. “I just put myself right at the spot where someone needed to be to get the job. And I prepared. I knew I wanted to direct, so I met DPs, I ran sets, I chose music. I went through the process of directing in little ways — nothing too big or risky or time-consuming. I just started really observing.”
