One Direction has some serious competition in the form of 14-year-old “America’s Got Talent” contestant Edon.

The young singer drove the audience wild Tuesday with a piano-heavy rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful” during the first night of the semi-finals.

The performance earned him a standing ovation from judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne, and the crowd chanted Edon’s name repeatedly.

Calling the rendition “beautiful” and “amazing,” Mandel said Edon is “the best singer in this competition.”

Osbourne added that the song choice was “spot-on,” and noted that Edon’s “stage presence” is excellent.

“You put in everything,” she told the Chicagoan.

Fellow judge Howard Stern, however, was the lone dissenter, saying that while he expects “13-year-old girls” to vote for Edon because he’s “cute,” he himself was “a little bored” by the song and performance.

    Howard Stern is Boring and Overrated! I don’t understand why he is a judge; he knows nothing about performing except for his very nasty late late night talk show.

    Edon was Amazing and should have been advanced to the finals!

    Edon has a beautiful voice and I think he has the skills to
    make it in the finals. That was a great audition and I’m looking forward to his
    next audition. Its acts like this that keep me tuned to watching Americas Got
    Talent. I always make sure this show’s recorded during primetime. Since I
    mostly record primetime shows I can use my Auto Hop feature to skip
    commercials. I don’t have to manually fast forward commercials and they are
    still available to watch if I want. I was stoked about this feature after one
    of my coworkers at Dish showed me how it worked. Now there’s no worry of always
    going past my shows and then having to skip back. I don’t have to worry about
    replacing my batteries in the remote all the time.
