Ed Sheeran Stepping In For Justin Bieber At Fusion Festival
Ed Sheeran will be stepping in for Justin Bieber, who dropped out of headlining the Fusion Festival on August 28. Sheeran, who ended his X Tour performances in England with three huge shows at Wembley Stadium in July, announced he was replacing Bieber on Thursday when he tweeted, “I know I said Wembley was my last UK show of this tour but my mate had a cancellation on his festival so I’m filling in last minute. It’s called Fusion fest, it’s in Birmingham, and it’s on the 28th of August, this is the last booked UK show of the X tour. No more after. Tickets are still available online, see you there x.”
Bieber then thanked his friend for taking his spot. Bieber tweeted, “@edsheeran thanks buddy. I owe u one. UK there is no one better to step up. I will see u all soon. Until then enjoy Ed. No one better :)”
As Gossip Cop reported, Bieber canceled his Fusion Festival performance without explanation on Tuesday. He simply tweeted, “To all my UK beliebers… Due to an unforeseen issue I will be unable to perform at the Fusion Festival… I look forward to the opportunity to give my UK beliebers a great show in the near future.” What ensued, however, was a virulent backlash by Beliebers who were angered by his cancelation. As Gossip Cop noted, one fan tweeted, “I actually wanna rip your heart out so you feel the pain I feel right now,” while another simply wrote, “you won’t come back for another 2 years! F*ck you!”
