“People Aspire To Be” The Kardashians, Says President of E!

What’s the key to the Kardashian shows’ success?

According to E! president Suzanne Kolb, it’s because viewers are enamored with the infamous clan.

“People aspire to be them or to befriend them,” says network’s head honcho.

Kolb, who describes the Kardashians as “an incredibly bonded, loving, large family who live an incredibly large life,” explains that shows like “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” aren’t all that different from TV programs of years past.

“If you actually look at the history of television, there’s a pretty large number of families with that blend resonating with viewers,” Kolb tells The Wrap. “This just happens to be the first reality show that does it.”

Kolb, however, does acknowledge that not everyone loves “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” and the like.

She just doesn’t plan on changing E!’s programming because of it, despite a recent petition asking the network to cancel all its Kardashian-related programming.

“We take every viewer comment seriously, but no,” says Kolb. “We did not consider not to be in business with the Kardashians.”

In fact, the network recently revealed it hopes to add “two, three, even four new” spinoffs.

    I’d like to tell Ms Kolb where to take her greedy arse… That is the only reason she works with them, for the money made from manipulation. It isn’t an adoration. Manipulation at its’ finest, yes. The dumbing down of America, yes. These people aren’t “smart business people” either. They had the money to throw around to get to even more money. Anyone can do that. Now we at least have another name to blame besides Ryan Seacrest for this idiocy.

    well I guess if the majoirty of our society is watching OIL enemas * close to soft porn then the minority has no say unless most stop viewing. I don’t see anything that resembles a family loving or bonded other then for money attention & greed. Everything the do is for money & profit. They are a scam family. Sadly TV is ruled by the younger generation & the Kardashins say they share no responsability in what they view thast up to the parents to control that. I would think that MS KOLB shares in some responsabilty for what the young view. NO ownder we have so many young people in our society with a lack of moral values. IF this has to be the programming change it to another time slot like after midnight.

    I agree, with every show u will have a fan base and u will have HATERS, it drives everything.There are alot of families like the Kardashians some smaller some larger, some less loving who wish they willmore like them or want the lavish life style, who wouldnt. She knows what she is doing!!!!!!!!!

    ugh it’s so true that i aspire to be a kardashian. cause i wan’t to be a whore, have a sex tape, be stupid, be a momager, be married for only 72 days, have fights with my boyfriend every single day because of his alcoholic problems, be money hungry and a lot more. yep that’s right i TOTALLY WANT TO BE A KARDASHIAN!

    i don’t even watch the show and i really don’t care about them… but then this gossip article came up and i just had to right that. sure they have a close family but that’s probably the only positive thing to say about them is their family bond… but we all know that the kardashian’s have no moral values at all whatsoever.

    People can say what they want about them most people not on tv go through the things they do we just dont see it because there not on tv no one is perfect . they must me doing something right because people keep talking about them watching their shows and buying there products. they may be famous for being famous but at least there not in and out of jail every other week or being pulled over for drug posession like some other so called famous people

    I will fully cop to wanting to have Kardashian cash, and maybe the collective Kardashian closet, but other than that there is nothing about these people I aspire to be.
    I don’t want to be famous, and if I did want to be famous it wouldn’t be for the reasons these people are famous for.

    Obviously she’s trying to get the ratings up , I have never watched or will watch any kardashian show or any reality show for that matter . It’s all fake anyway , there is nothing about them that attract me to want to be them , except perhaps the money , but I’m sure they are more important things in life . Like the saying goes ” everything that has a beginning has an end ” .. Can’t wait for that end!!!!
