Dwayne Johnson did a hilarious performance to “Shake It Off” on Thursday’s highly-anticipated premiere of “Lip Synch Battle.” Watch below!

The show’s premise is simple: Two celebrities face to see who can better lip sync popular songs. The series, hosted by LL Cool J and “color commentator” Chrissy Teigen, is a spinoff of Jimmy Fallon’s popular “Late Night” and “Tonight Show” lip sync bits. It seems only fitting then that Fallon was the one competing against Johnson in the premiere.

Now, despite Fallon’s experience at going head-to-head against stars ranging from Emma Stone to Will Ferrell, Johnson has previously shown he has killer karaoke skills on “Live! with Kelly and Michael.” Their “Lip Sync Battle” showdown was a formidable matchup, with Johnson amusingly doing “Shake It Off” and Fallon taking on “Like A Prayer” with the help of a choir.

“Shake It Off,” of course, has been used in many viral lip sync videos since Taylor Swift released the song last year. In an interview with “Extra” hours before the “Lip Sync Battle” premiere, Johnson explained how his performance came about. “I had to go with Taylor ’cause I had to go with something the people wouldn’t expect,” said the star. Johnson shared that he had much “appreciation” for Swift allowing him to use the song, and noted, “She’s notorious for protecting her music and her content, which she should be, but she heard I wanted to sing it, and she was like, ‘Rock got it, just take it’… I got the blessing from Ta Ta.”

And in addition to “Shake It Off,” Johnson also performed “Stayin’ Alive,” while Fallon also did “Jump in the Line (Shake, Señora).” So, who emerged victorious? Well, it was up the audience’s cheers to determine the winner. Johnson clearly took the battle, and got a “Lip Sync Battle” championship belt for his efforts!
