Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart opened the 2016 MTV Movie Awards with fire, music, and lots of laughs, as seen on Sunday’s broadcast. Watch below!

This year’s MTV Movie Awards actually filmed on Saturday, with Johnson and Hart co-hosting the 25th anniversary festivities outside at the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, California. The show kicked off with a bit seemingly inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road with Johnson as a warrior and Hart as a prisoner as they made their way to the stage.

“Welcome, welcome to the 2016 Movie Awards,” Johnson exclaimed. Noting the anniversary, Hart said, “It’s a milestone moment for the show that awards the movies people actually pay to see.” They went on to shout-out various films… including the Hulk Hogan sex tape. Johnson then made a number of movie puns playing on Hart’s short stature, leading him to call The Rock “chocolate shrek.”

The two promised “anything can happen” over the course of a show. Hart then triggered an explosion and Johnson staged a fight scene. There was also fireworks, a look back at Johnson’s days as a “buff lesbian,” and talk of Hart “putting [his] d*ck in cake.”

As Gossip Cop reported, Johnson and Hart were named the 2016 MTV Movie Awards hosts in February. The two star in the upcoming movie Central Intelligence, which will be released on June 17. The movie’s tag line: “Saving the world takes a little Hart and a big Johnson.” While the globe wasn’t at stake here, the co-stars certainly provided that and then some with their MTV Movie Awards opening.
