Dwayne Johnson Makes Cancer-Stricken Teen’s Dream Come True (PHOTO)
Dwayne Johnson continues to make dreams come true for sick kids. The actor met with a teen battling cancer last weekend, granting one of the young fan’s “final wishes.” See the photo at right and a larger version below.
On Wednesday, Johnson introduced his Instagram followers to 16-year-old Fernando. “World I want to introduce you to a very special young man. This is 16yr old Fernando. A junior at Coosa High School in Rome, GA. He was diagnosed with cancer in the 6th grade,” the actor captioned a photo of himself smiling with an equally beaming Fernando. Johnson explained that over the course of his battle with cancer Fernando has lost both his left leg and left arm.
Johnson sadly noted that Fernando is possibly in his last throes of life. “On Feb 24th, 2016 Fernando got word that cancer had spread to his left lung and this would be his final fight. One of his final wishes was to meet me. We did just that this past Saturday, on my set. In Atlanta, GA,” he added on Instagram. “This kid’s perspective on life knocked me off my feet. Smile on his face, funny as hell, sincere and calm. Easily one of the coolest kids I’ve ever met and a meeting I’ll never forget,” wrote Johnson.
During their meeting, Fernando gave Johnson a gift. “Fernando had a special shirt made for me. On the front reads ‘Fernando’s Fight. Strength, Courage, Determination’ and on the back, ‘The People’s Champ’. He embodies every word on that shirt – especially The People’s Champ,” expressed Johnson. “That’s exactly what you are buddy, a Champion of the people, by inspiring all those around you. Including me.” As Gossip Cop previously reported, the Baywatch star also visited sick children last week at Memorial Health hospital in Savannah. See a larger photo of Johnson and Fernando below.
