Dustin Diamond Posts Bail, Leaves Jail Following Alleged Bar Fight Stabbing
Dustin Diamond appeared in court on Monday, finally out of jail on $10,000 bail after allegedly stabbing a man during a Christmas bar fight in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The “Saved by the Bell” star spent the holiday weekend behind bars on charges of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and carrying a conceal weapon.
The actor did not speak during his appearance in Ozaukee County Circuit Court. His attorney requested a jury trial for Diamond, and said outside the courtroom that his client “has complete faith in the justice system.” The lawyer added that Diamond was “not happy he missed the Packers game” on Sunday, but “caught up on some books.” His next court hearing is slated for January 5.
Diamond and his girlfriend, Amanda, were involved in an altercation with other patrons at the Grand Avenue Saloon on Thursday. Police say Diamond stabbed a man before he and Amanda left the premises and returned to their nearby home, where both were arrested. She was booked for disorderly conduct and released. He was detained on the more serious charges. According to Diamond, he used his switchblade while trying to defend Amanda, and was not the aggressor. Gossip Cop will have updates.
