Dustin Diamond Convicted Of Misdemeanors In Bar Stabbing
Dustin Diamond was convicted on Friday of two misdemeanors, stemming from a Christmas bar fight in which he allegedly stabbed another patron in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The “Saved By The Bell” actor was found guilty of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon, but was acquitted of the more serious charge of recklessly endangering safety.
As Gossip Cop reported, Diamond and his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, were involved in an altercation last December with other patrons at the Grand Ave. Saloon, during which the actor allegedly stabbed a man named Casey Smet with a pocketknife. According to Diamond, Schutz got into a fight with another woman after other bar patrons were allegedly harassing them. Diamond said after Schutz was punched by another woman, he pulled out his knife to defend her. During the chaos, Smet was injured, which he did not realize until after he left the bar.
The “Saved By The Bell” star faces up to three months in jail for the disorderly conduct charge and a possible nine months behind bars for the concealed weapon conviction. Schutz, who was found guilty of disorderly conduct, could also be locked up for three months. Sentencing is set for June 25. What do you think about Diamond being acquitted of the felony charge but found guilty of disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon?
