New Singing Show Duets to Feature Kelly Clarkson and Lionel Richie (VIDEO)

Are you ready for (yet another) singing competition show?

One with (yet another) twist?

On “Duets,” a quartet of music stars – Kelly Clarkson, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland and Robin Thicke – search America for performers to be their own singing partners.

Each mentor will pick two contestants, and each week, the celebrity singer and one of his or her protégés will duet for a live audience.

At the conclusion of the competition, the winning amateur singer will get a recording contract with Hollywood Records.

The show is set to air this summer on ABC.

    Didn’t you just announce the premier of yet another singing show earlier this week? Gawd, spare us! Enough is enough. I used to enjoy them when they were on now and then. Now it’s just too much of a good thing. Like eating something sickeningly sweet and then wanting to stick your finger down your throat. STOP!!!!

    Funny Deana: I rather enjoy the show, but I don’t watch any of the other shows because I find the talent rather lackluster in my opinion, along with tacky arrangements. “Duets” is just the opposite, and I like hearing the fabulous Kelly Clarkson. My whole family watches with me now after one of my Dish co-workers suggested the show. What I like is that we can watch more shows in one evening by using our PrimeTime Anytime recordings and our Auto Hop feature. With Auto Hop we can watch commercial free, thus saving 20 minutes an hour, thus can add more shows to the time we have.
