Drake, Taylor Swift NOT Dating, Despite Rumors
As previously reported, Swift attended Drake’s star-studded birthday party on Sunday, along with a number of other celebrities. That led the fabrication factory known as HollywoodLife on Monday to purport to have an “exclusive” about the two “flirting.” Of course, the webloid then speculated Drake and Swift were dating.
But Gossip Cop exclusively debunked the claims, with one contact telling us the stars are “just friends.” And on Thursday, days after our bust, the generally-reliable TMZ confirmed our reporting. Now on Friday, “Drake and Taylor Swift” became a trending topic on Twitter as outlets like MTV and Complex resurfaced the unfounded dating rumors.
Admittedly, Swift’s own pal Karlie Kloss also added fuel to the fire by posting a birthday message for Drake on Instagram that featured a photo of Swift. But that doesn’t change the truth. Swift and Drake weren’t dating days ago, and they still aren’t dating now.
The two performers have been friendly since at least 2013 (when the above photo was taken). But Drake’s bash was one of the few times they’ve actually partied together. And while theoretically something could blossom in the future, the fact remains that these current dating rumors are untrue.
