LISTEN: Drake Slams Meek Mill In New Song “Charged Up” (AUDIO)
Drake released a diss song on Saturday called “Charged Up” in response to Meek Mill accusing the rapper last week of not writing his own music and instead using a ghostwriter. The track doesn’t mention Mill by name, but its lyrics are clearly directed at him. Listen to Drake’s song “Charged Up” below, and tell us what you think.
As Gossip Cop reported earlier, on Tuesday Mill went on a Twitter rant in which he accused Drake of not writing his own music. Mill tweeted, “Stop comparing drake to me too…. He don’t write his own raps!” Mill further said had he known that, he would not have used Drake’s verses on his own song “R.I.C.O.” Drake, for his part, never responded to Mill’s claim that Quentin Miller ghostwrote his songs. Miller, however, wrote on his Tumblr page, “I am not and never will be a ‘ghostwriter’ for Drake. I’m proud to say that we’ve collaborated… but I could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together.”
After laying low for days, Drake dropped “Charged Up” over the weekend with lyrics that include, “I did some charity today for the kids, but I’m used to it cause y’all charity cases.” He also rapped, “I stay[ed] silent,” and that he’s “done doing favors for people.”
Following the release of “Charged Up,” Mill tweeted, “I can tell he wrote that 1 tho.” Listen to Drake’s retaliation song, and tell us what you think.
