Drake Bell Jail: Sentenced To 96 Hours For DUI
Drake Bell is going to jail. The actor-musician has been sentenced to 96 hours behind bars for his second DUI.
As Gossip Cop reported, Bell was arrested for DUI in December 2015. He was pulled over by police after being seen driving erratically, including swerving and speeding, in Glendale, California. Cops smelled alcohol coming from his car and conducted a field sobriety test, which he failed, though he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
The former child star was then booked for suspicion of driving under the influence and issued a citation. In early January, Drake was officially charged with misdemeanor DUI. At the time, it was said he faced a minimum of four days in jail, in addition to a license suspension.
Now TMZ reports Bell has accepted a plea deal that calls for 96 hours, or four days, in Los Angeles County lock-up, as well as four years of probation. The “Drake & Josh” star will also have to participate in an alcohol education program. It’s unclear when he’s expected to surrender for the jail stint, and also not known if it’s possible he’ll be released early due to jail overcrowding.
Bell’s previous DUI conviction was in 2009. His repeat offender status mandated jail time as part of his sentence now. Bell has not mentioned the situation on social media, though Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for comment. He is pictured above in his mug shot from last year.
