Donald Sterling Has Alzheimer’s Disease: Report
Donald Sterling reportedly has Alzheimer’s disease.
The disgraced Los Angeles Clippers owner, whose wife Shelly just struck an agreement to sell the team, was reportedly diagnosed with the condition by two neurologists earlier this month following extensive testing.
According to TMZ, the doctors determined that Sterling may have had the disease for as long as five years.
Under the terms of the trust agreement governing the Sterling family’s management of the Clippers, the 80-year-old billionaire loses control of the team if physicians decide he shows “an inability to conduct business affairs in a reasonable and normal manner.”
With his diagnosis, Donald was deemed incompetent to run the Clippers.
Whether his reported Alzheimer’s diagnosis complicates in any way Donald’s previous legal transfer of the Clippers to Shelly (and Shelly’s sale of the team to Steve Ballmer) is not clear.
