Diddy Will Not Get Hit With Felony Charge For Football Coach Fight
Diddy will not be charged with a felony, Gossip Cop can confirm. The Los Angeles County District Attorney has punted on the case, and will not pursue any criminal charges against the music mogul who allegedly took a swing with a weight at a UCLA football coach who was supposedly hazing Diddy’s son Justin Combs. Diddy, however, could still face misdemeanor assault charges from the L.A. City Attorney.
As Gossip Cop reported, Diddy was arrested on June 22 after trying to hit UCLA football’s strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi with a kettlebell following a heated argument over how the coach was yelling at the younger Combs, who’s a defensive back on the team. Diddy was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery. Diddy’s rep maintained after the arrest that “any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son.”
Neither Diddy nor his rep have commented yet on the Los Angeles County District Attorney passing on the felony charge. A decision about whether Diddy will be hit with a misdemeanor could happen right after the holiday weekend. Gossip Cop will continue to update.
