Diddy Charges Upgraded: Terrorist Threats, Battery, And Assault With Deadly Weapon
Diddy is facing upgraded charges in the wake of his alleged altercation with a UCLA football coach.
As Gossip Cop reported, the music mogul was arrested on campus on Monday after he allegedly swung a kettlebell at strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi. Diddy was reportedly upset at how Alosi was supposedly treating his son Justin Combs during practice, and the issue continued off the field. He was initially taken into custody by university police.
At that point, Diddy was being held on an assault with a deadly weapon charge. But after he was transferred later Monday to a Los Angeles County jail, the charges were updated. Now Diddy has been slapped with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and one count each of battery and making terrorist threats.
According to TMZ, the threats charge is based on Diddy allegedly screaming he was “going to f**k [Alosi] up” when several people came to separate them. Alosi did not suffer any serious injuries in the dispute, and has not publicly commented. Diddy was ultimately released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
Despite the serious offenses, TMZ claims UCLA may opt not to pursue the charges, and instead just ban Diddy from the field. Neither he nor his son have spoken publicly yet about what transpired. Justin, a defensive back, is the rapper’s eldest son, and the only child from his relationship with Misa Hylton-Brim. As Gossip Cop reported, Justin’s football scholarship sparked controversy back in 2012. We’ll continue to have updates.
