CLAIM: Diddy Believes Cameron Diaz Is “The One Who Got Away”
Us Weekly must be desperate for content this holiday week, because it decided to revive a three-year-old story in its new issue. Back in 2011, Gossip Cop busted the magazine’s claim that Cameron Diaz and Diddy were “hooking up.” It wasn’t true, with Diaz’s rep telling Gossip Cop that the stars were “longtime friends,” but “not romantically involved.”
Perhaps Us thought readers would have forgotten our correction by now, but when you double down on your mistake, even an old one, it’s like practically begging to be called out. And that’s exactly what Gossip Cop is going to do.
According to the tabloid’s new story, Diddy believes Diaz is “the one who got away,” and recently “lamented” the end of their supposed relationship and Diaz’s new romance with Benji Madden. “He said, ‘If I could turn back time, things would be different,'” a so-called “source” claims to Us. The alleged “insider” adds that Diddy was acting like a “bummed,” “forlorn man.”
Well, Gossip Cop is “bummed” that Us is dredging up an old rumor that wasn’t true in the first place. The only thing that “got away” here is the facts from Us, which the outlet has once again disregarded in favor of sensational content. Gossip Cop is again told there was nothing going on between Diaz and Diddy, and we’re assured the new claims are just as “ridiculous” as they were three years ago. The above photo of Diaz and Diddy shows exactly what readers should now be doing: laughing at the magazine’s stupid, redundant, and wrong story.
