Did Lou Dobbs leave anchor desk for campaign trail?

Lou Dobbs is weighing a run for political office.

The longtime CNN anchor, who left the cable network rather abruptly on Wednesday, told the Associated Press that public office is an option he’s considering now that he has left his TV duties.

Dobbs also said his leaving CNN was a mutual decision with the network, and that he had “a very amicable parting on the best of terms.”

Dobbs will continue doing his radio show but, other than that, he says he will take his time to figure out his next move.
