Dick Cheney Receives Heart Transplant

Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday.

The former Vice President is now recovering in the intensive care unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

According to a statement released by Cheney’s office, the donor is anonymous.

It reads, “Although the former Vice President and his family do not know the identity of the donor, they will forever be grateful for this lifesaving gift.”

Cheney, who is 71, had been on the transplant list for 20 months.

He has had a long history of poor coronary health, including a fifth heart attack in 2010.

    I would like to know how long he was on the transplant list or if he was jumped over people that have been waiting ages; its suppose to go by need and suitability; not wealth, fame, or political influance

    20 months. That is quite a long time.My father got one in a few months. It can depend on your blood type and other matches with the donor heart.

    Good!!! As soon as the old buzzard is well again, lets put him on trial for his part in starting an illegal war on Iraq that was also started under false pretences.     Oh please. You really need to check your facts. The economy immediately started getting better when Obama took office. Considering that we started with a major surplus when Bush came into office, which was immediately doled out to Bush & Cheney’s buddies in the oil industry and Halliburton, it’s amazing that we have been able to begin climbing out of the hole that the second Bush administration got us into. It typically takes a lot longer to get out of a hole like our economy is in than it does to get there. Look at recessions of the past. We have been improving in the past three years and will continue to improve if it doesn’t get messed up, by more infighting of congress. Some people are so blinded by the lies that the current candidates are blatantly telling, that they don’t want to find out the truth for themselves.
